solve for x in the equation of x + y = 48 to get:
x = 48 - y
replace x with 48 - y in the inequality of x > y to get:
48 - y > y
solve for y in this inequality to get:
48 > 2y
divide both sides of the inequality by 2 to get:
24 > y
you have two requirements.
y < 24
x = 48 - y
keep to these two requirements and the equation and the inequality will always be true.
for example:
y = 20
