You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1a)
x+3=y
x=y-3
x should be positive. Your answer is correct but that's not what the question asked for.
1b)
2x+9=y
2x=y-9
x=(y-9)/(2) (When you divide by 2 you divide EVERYTHING by 2)
x=y/2-9/2
