Question 924260: If f(x)=8x2 and r(x)=Sqrt(7x), find a simplified formula for f(r(x))..

I know this is somewhat like substitution, and I also know that I have to put r(x) into f(x). So, I did 8(sqrt(7x))^2 but I don't know what to do next.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Squaring is the opposite of square rooting, or vice versa. When you square a square root, the two go away because they cancel out.

So 8%28sqrt%287x%29%29%5E2+=+8%287x%29+=+56x where x%3E=0. If x is allowed to be negative, then you have to use absolute value bars to say 8%2Aabs%287x%29
