You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Use substitution to solve for x and y.
3x+y=-14 --> y = -3x - 14
Sub for y in the 2nd eqn
-2x-y=9
-2x - (-3x-14) = 9
-2x + 3x + 14 = 9
y = -5
-----
-2x-y=9
-2x + 5 = 9
-2x = 4
x = -2
============
Use substitution to solve for x and y.
y=1/2x+5
y=-5/2x-1
Since both right sides = y,
1/2x+5 = -5/2x-1
x+10 = -5x-2
etc
