the common multiplier a multiplies each term within the parentheses %28b%2Bc%29
example:
to 6%28n%2B5%29 an equivalent algebraic expression will be 6n+%2B+30
or
to -2%28k%2B8%29an equivalent algebraic expression will be -2k+-16
