Question 922368: You are given a picture of a rectangle
This rectangle has 4 equations, 1 for each side. The equations are below
Left Side: x+y+3
Right Side: 2x-y+6
Top: 2x+3y+5
Bottom: 3x-y+16
You need to get these formulas into 2 formulas that can be done using elimination. You then need to find out the Y and X for the question.
This help would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Armz

Hi,
.
Rectangle: Opposite Sides are equal
x+y+3 = 2x-y + 6
x+-+2y+=+-3
.......
2x + 3y + 5 = 3x-y + 16
x+-+4y+=+-11
......
-(x-2y = -3)
x - 4y = -11
-2y = -8
y = 4 and x = 5 x+=+2%2A4+-+3
And........ checking
x+y+3 = 2x-y + 6
12 = 12
2x + 3y + 5 = 3x-y + 16
27 = 27
