Question 922354: Four equal squares are placed side by side to make a rectangle whose perimeter is 15 meters. Find the area of the rectangle in square meters? ( answer is 9 - show your solution )

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If four equal squares are placed side by side
the rectangle will have 4 square's sides for its length and
one square's side for its width.
Therefore 10 square's sides for its perimeter.
Perimeter = 15 meters
15/10 = 1.5 meters (this is the measurement
of a square's side.)
As the length of the rectangle = 4 square's sides = 6 meters
As the width of the rectangle = 1 square's side = 1.5 meters.
Area of rectangle = 6 x 1.5 meters = 9 sq meters
Hope this helps.
