You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The largest side must be smaller than the sum of the other two.
a) 4,5,7
b) 8,8,14
c) 5,5,5
d) 6,7,13
a) largest is 7, then 7%3C4+%2B+5+=>7%3C9, which is true; consequently, these could+ be lengths of the sides of a scalene triangle

b) largest is 14,then 14%3C8+%2B+8=>14%3C16 which is true; consequently, these could+ be lengths of the sides of an isosceles triangle
c) largest is 5,then 5%3C5+%2B+5=>5%3C10 which is true; consequently, these could+ be lengths of the sides of an equilateral triangle
d) largest is 13,then 13%3C6+%2B+7=>13%3C13 which is NOT+ true; consequently, these could+ NOT+ be lengths of the sides of a triangle

if you take the two smaller sides and add them together, they should be greater than the third side.

if you take the largest and the smallest and subtract them from each other, they should be smaller than the third side.

4+5 > 7
7-4 < 5
a is ok.

8+8 > 14
14-8 < 8
b is ok.

5+5 > 5
5-5 < 5
c is ok.

13-6 = 7 not smaller than 7
6+7 = 13 not greater than 13
d is not ok.

d is your answer.
