Question 920120: Water from a tank is being used for irrigation while the tank is being filled. The two inlet pipes can fill the tank in 6 h and 12 h, respectively. The outlet pipe can empty the tank in 24 h. How long would it take to fill the tank with all three pipes open?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Sum of the rates in unit of TANKS per HOUR. Water going IN is positive, and going OUT is negative.
 TANKS per HOUR;
so you want the reciprocal of that.
 hours to fill the tank with all three pipes open.
