x+2= Length of the rectangle
2(x+2) + 2x = 24 (the perimeter)
2x+4 +2x = 24
4x + 4 = 24
4x = 20
x = 5
(5) + 2 = length of the rectangle

The area of the rectangle is 35 yards.
