let the numbers be x & y
x>y

x+y =52

Dividend = divisor * quotient + remainder
x= y*3 +4
x=3y+4
substitute x in the first equation
x+y =52
3y+4+y=52
4y+4=52
4y=52-4
4y=48
/4
y=12
Now x+y =52
x+12=52
x=52-12
x=40
The numbers are 12 & 40
