You can put this solution on YOUR website!

if line l[1] has a slope of m=%281%2F2%29, and line l[2] is perpendicular to l[1].
then the slope m%5Bp%5D of line l[2] is negative reciprocal of m
so,
m%5Bp%5D=-1%2Fm
m=%281%2F2%29
m%5Bp%5D=-1%2F%281%2F2%29
m%5Bp%5D=-2

example:
y=mx and perpendicular line is y=m%5Bp%5Dx
y=%281%2F2%29x and perpendicular line is y=-2x

Line l[1] has a slope of 1/2. Line l[2]is perpendicular to l[1].
What is the slope of line l[2] = -2/1 (negative reciprocal of 1/2)%281%2F2%29%28-2%2F1%29+=+-1
slope of line l[2] = -2
