You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Mike can paint one chair in 4 hours. Laura can paint 3 chairs in 7 hours. If they work together how long will it take them to paint 2 chairs?

Mike can paint one chair in 4 hours.
he can paint 2 chairs in 8 hours
Laura can paint 3 chairs in 7 hours.
she can paint 2 chairs in 14/3 hours
Let painting two chairs be 1 job
Mike does 1/8 of the job in 1 hour
Laura does 3/14 of the job in 1 hour
In 1 hour they together do 1/8 + 3/14 of the job
=21/56 of the job in 1 hour
so they take 56/21 hours together
= 2.66 hours

If they work together how long will it take them to paint 2 chairs?
