Question 914433: Hello,

Here is the question:
You have 100 ft of fencing and you are in charge of enclosing a region that has the
shape shown in the picture below. The region is made of a rectangle and two semicircles.
Write a function that calculates the area of the region as a function of the
length of the rectangle.
I tried this:
P=100
100=2(pi)r + 2r + 2x or 50=(pi)r + r +x
Then solve for x= -(pi)r - r + 50
The substitute to and solve and get:
A= -(pi)r^2 + 98r
is this right?
thank you. Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source):
