I am going to solve it by factoring.
x%5E2%283x+%2B+1%29-%283x+%2B+1%29+=+0
%283x+%2B+1%29%28x%5E2-1%29+=+0
%283x+%2B+1%29%28x+%2B+1%29%28x+-+1%29+=+0
so 3x + 1 = 0 ===> x+=+-1%2F3
x + 1 = 0 ====> x = -1
x - 1 = 0 =====> x = 1
