Please do not stress over an Inequality Sign
Unless forced to multiply or divide by negative number...same old (as if it were an equal sign)
For ex:
...same old
8(z-3)<2(3-z)
8z - 24 <6 -2z
10z < 30
z < 3
...same old
1-3(a+2)>4(1-a)
1-3a-6 > 4 -4a
a > 9
....to multiply or divide by negative number: CHANGE sign
-8w<12
w > -12/8
w > - 1.5
......
if y varies directly as x and x = 9 when y = 15 find y when x = 33...
y = kx
15 = k9
15/9 = k = 5/3
y = = 55
