Question 911991: the sum of two numbers is 31 if the smaller no. is double and the large is incresed by 11 he resulting no. are equal... Answer by JulietG(1812) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! A + B = 31, or A = 31 - B
2B = A + 11
2B = (31-B) + 11
2B = 42-B
3B = 42
B = 14
If B is 14, then A is 17 (A+B=31)
Check:
if the smaller no. is double (14*2=28) and the large is increased by 11 (17+11=28) the resulting no. are equal.
