Question 911371: I have to find the equation of 2 points (2, 90) and (4, 810)
We have not learned how to do the formula, we have only learned to divide one y value by its previous but in this case that doesn't work. How can I solve it non-algebraically?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
find the equation of 2 points (2, 90) and (4, 810)
We have not learned how to do the formula, we have only learned to divide one y value by its previous but in this case that doesn't work. How can I solve it non-algebraically?
=========
Notice that when x increased by 4-2 = 2, y increased by 810-90 = 720
---
So if x were to increase by 1, y would increase by 360.
That is the slope of the equation you want.
-----
Notice that if x were to DECREASE by 2, 2-2 = 0, y would decrease by 720
So y would equal 90-720 = -630.
That is the y-intercept of the equation you want.
----
Ans:: y = 360x - 630

There is no "equation of 2 points."
Maybe you mean an equation of the straight line that passes thru the 2 points.
If so,
find the slope, m = diffy/diffx = (810 - 90)/(4 - 2) = 360
-----
then use y - y1 - m*(x - x1) and either point to find an equation.
y - 90 = 360*(x - 2)

Idk what you mean by "solve it non-algebraically." Using a ouija board?
