SOLUTION: I need to solve 3(x-2)^2=12. I want to use the distributive formula, but that doesn't seem to work. I guess I need to use the sqare root property? I'm unsure how to do this.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3%28x-2%29%5E2=12

%28x-2%29%5E2=4 Divide both sides by 3

x-2=0%2B-sqrt%284%29 Take the square root of both sides

x=2%2B-sqrt%284%29 Add 2 to both sides

x=2%2Bsqrt%284%29 or x=2-sqrt%284%29 Break up the expression

x=2%2B2 or x=2-2 Take the square root

x=4 or x=0 Combine like terms
