supplement of A = 180 - A
13(90 - A) = 4(180 - A)
1170 -13A = 720 -4A
add -720 to each side
450 -13A = -4A
add 13A to each side
450 = 9A
divide each side by 9
50 = A
Angle A is 50 degrees.
Notice that 13(90-50) = 4(180-50)
13(40) = 4(130)
520 = 520
