Question 910588: PLease explain your steps as I can understand how to work the problem.
"and" compound inequality-1 ≤ 3 + 2x < 11

"or" compound inequality 1 – x ≥ -3 or 5x – 1 > 19

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
work the problem.
"and" compound inequality
-1 ≤ 3 + 2x < 11
Subtract 3 along the line to get:
-4 <= 2x < 8
Divide by 2 along the line to get:
-2 <= x < 4
================================
"or" compound inequality
1 – x ≥ -3 or 5x – 1 > 19
-x >= -4 or 5x > 20
----
Note Dividing by a negative reverses the inequality::
x <= 4 or x > 5
