Given a value, called x, a function produces a corresponding
value called y.
For example y=3x+4
y takes the x, multiplies it by 3 and then adds 4.

Example y=(x-4)/3 is the inverse of the previous function.
This inverse function takes x, then subtracts 4, then divides
the result by 3.
