You can put this solution on YOUR website! Which of the ordered pairs (0, 0), (–2, 10), (–1, –5), (–3, 9)
 are solutions for the equation y = 5x?
 :
 This is so easy. You know that the 1st digit in the pair is x and the 2nd is y:
 :
 y = 5x
 Substitute the value of x for x and see if it equals y
 :
 (0,0)
 y = 5*0
 y = 0 so this is a solution:
 :
 (-2,10)
 y = 5*-2
 y = -10; this is not a solution
 :
 (-1,-5)
 y = 5*-1
 y = -5; this is a solution
 :
 (-3,9)
 y = 5*-3
 y = -15; this is not a solution

 Do you understand this now? Any questions?
