You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I need help defining a variable, writing a compound sentence, and solving this problem:
Susan makes 10% commission on her sales. She also receives a salary of $25,000. How much must she sell to receive a total income between $32,000 and $41,900?
------------------------
Let "x" be her sales.
Her pay is 0.10x+25000
----------
Compound sentence:
32,000<= 0.10x + 25000 <=41,900
Subtract 25000 down the line to get:
7,000 <= 0.10x <= 16,900
Divide thru by 0.10 to get:
70,000 <= x <= 169,000
-------------------------
Susan's income is between 70,000 and 169,000
