Question 909322: find the measures of two supplementary angles if the measure of one is six less than five times the measure of the other angle

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Supplementary angles add up to 180 degrees.
Therefore A + B = 180
A = 5B-6 [six less than five times the measure of the other]
Substitute the value of A from the bottom equation into the top.
A + B = 180
(5B-6) + B = 180
6B - 6 = 180
6B = 174
B = 29
If the smaller angle is 29, then the larger angle is 180-29, or 151.
151 = 5*29(145) + 6
