You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Quadrant I
Every positive angle in quadrant I is already acute...so the reference angle is the measure of the angle itself:
Quadrant II
To find the reference angle measuring x ° for angle in Quadrant II, the formula is 180-x°
Quadrant III
To find the reference angle measuring x° for angle in Quadrant III, the formula is x-180°

Quadrant IV
To find the reference angle measuring x° for angle in Quadrant IV, the formula is 360-x°

x=-240° => angle is in Quadrant II, it's same as x=120°
the reference angle is 180-x° =>180-120=60°

x=-200+° => angle is in Quadrant II, same as 160°;
the reference angle is 180-x° =>180-160=20°

x=1000 degrees => x=%28360++%2B360%2B280%29 degrees => angle is in Quadrant IV same as 280°

so, the reference angle is 360-x=+360-280=80°
