x, sloped at 45 degree angle upward from left to right, passing through (0,0).

x-2, moved two units to the right. Intersects x-axis at x=2.

4(x-2), stretches the line vertically and slope is now 4, still intersects x-axis at x=2.

4(x-2)-3, moved downward by 3 units, and no longer intersects x-axis at x=2, but somewhere to the right instead.
