You can put this solution on YOUR website!
+f%28x%29+=+mx+%2B+b, where m=slope and b=y-intercept

given: the x-intercept=-1%2F3 and y-intercept=+1%2F7
we know if we set x=0 we got y-intercept=+1%2F7
+f%280%29+=+m%2A0+%2B+1%2F7 => +f%280%29+=++1%2F7
so, y-intercept is at point (+0+,1%2F7)
and
if we set f%28x%29=0 we got x-intercept=+-1%2F3
so, x-intercept is at point (+-1%2F3+,+0+)

use these two points to find a slope m

Solved by pluggable solver: Finding the slope

Slope of the line through the points (0, 1/7) and (-1/3, 0)

Answer: Slope is m+=+1

now you have your f%28x%29+=+mx+%2B+b and that is f%28x%29+=+1%2Ax+%2B+1%2F7 or just
f%28x%29+=+x+%2B+1%2F7+
