Determine which two equations represent parallel lines.
(a) y = –6x + 2 (b) y = 6x + 2 (c) y = x + 2
(d) y = –6x + 4

For two lines to be parallel their slopes must be equal

From the given set of eq'ns (a) y = -6x+2 and (d) y = -6x+4
their slopes are m1 = -6 and m2 = -6
Therefore lines y = -6x+2 and y = -6x+4 are parallel.
