| Question 90696This question is from textbook Beginning Al
 :  Solve by completing the square: 4x^2 + 2x - 3 = 0
 4x^2 + 2x = 3
 x^2 + 2/4x = 3/4
 Square one-half of the of the x-coefficient and then add it to both sides
 1/2 of 2/4 = 1/4^2 = 1/16
 x^2 + 2/4x + 1/16 = 3/4 + 1/16
 (x-1/4)^2 = 13/16
 x - 1/4 = +/- radical 13 over radical 16
 x - 1/4 = +/- radical 13 over 4
 x = 1/4 +/- radical 13 over 4
 x = 1 +/- radical 13 over 4

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Hello there, I couldn't understand your answer but if you got the following two x values, then your answer is right.
 x ≈ 0.6514
 x ≈ -1.1514
 I solved the equation with my graphing calculator so I don't have any steps. If you didn't get these roots and you want more help, please write back!
