Question 906199: I am trying to solve a long fraction problem. I'm not sure what it's called but I will send the problem and what I tried. I'm hoping you can tell me if it's right or not. This is just practice for me for studying for a test.
3/8÷1/10+3/5×1/6
(3/8÷1/10)+(3/5×1/6)
3/8×10/1=30/8
3/5×1/6=3/30
30/8+1/10
30/8×10/10+1/10×8/8=
308/80=3 4/5

reduce by factors when possible
(3/8÷1/10)+(3/5×1/6)
(3/8×10/1)+(3/30)
30/8+1/10
15/4+1/10

308/80 is not 3 4/5
3 4/5 is 3.80
304/80=3 4/5

symbol and using a "dot" in place of the multiplication X symbol:
(3/8)/(1/10)+(3/5)*(1/6)
