You can put this solution on YOUR website! Elsa's Coffee Shop makes a blend that is a mixture of two types of coffee.
Type A coffee costs Elsa $5.90 per pound,
and type B coffee costs $4.30 per pound.
This month's blend used four times as many pounds of type B coffee as type A, for a total cost of $554.40
 . How many pounds of type A coffee were use
-------------------------
Quantity Equatiion:: B = A + 4
Value Equation:: 5.9A + 4.3B = 554.4
--------
Substitute for "B" and solve for "A::
5.9A + 4.3(A+4) = 554.4
------
10.2A + 17.2 = 554.4
10.2A = 537.2
A = 52 2/3 pounds (amt. of Type A coffee used)
------------
