Question 905984: I have struggled with this equation, and I still cannot get the answer to come out correctly. The problem is; equation for a parallel line; y=-4x-5, the points that are given are; (0, 1).
Problem 2 is; y=-2x-4, the points that are given are; (1, 3). Any help that you can give me, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Virginia

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=-4x-5 line parallel has same slope
Use ***point-slope form, y+-+y%5B1%5D+=+m%28x+-+x%5B1%5D%29 to determine new line
y-1 = -4(x-0) P(0,1)
y = -4x + 1
2)
y-3 = -2(x-1) P(1,3)
y-3 = -2x + 2
y = -2x + 5
