15 + 2X = 3 + 5X
Subtract 2X from each side
15 = 3 + 3X
Subtract 3 from each side
12 = 3X
Divide each side by 3
4 = x
Prove it:
When 15 is added to twice a number (15+8=23), the result is the same as when 3 is added to 5 times the number (3+20=23).
