You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A and B can do a work in 20 and 30 days respectively.
A worked for few days and with the help of B, the work finished in 14 days.
How many days did A worked alone?
:
A works for 14 days, we can find how long B worked, then find how long A was alone
let t = no. of days that B worked
:
Let the completed job = 1
:
14%2F20 + t%2F30 = 1
multiply equation by 60, cancel the denominators
3(14) + 2t = 60
42 + 2t = 60
2t = 60 - 42
t = 18/2
t = 9 days worked by B
then
14 - 9 = 5 days A worked alone
