What are the length and width of a rectangular traffic sign if the length exceeds thw width by 13 inches and the perimeter is 138 inches.
let x=width
x+13=length
2(width+length)=perimeter
2(x+x+13)=138
4x+26=138
4x=112
x=28
x+13=41
width=28 inches
length=41 inches

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
L=w+13
2w+2L=138
2w+2(w+13)=138
4w+26=138
L = 41, w = 28
