Question 903135: Hello i have this problem Solve: 2^(x+3)=2^5
I've worked it to
LN(2^(x+3)) = LN(2^5)
x+3*LN(2)=5*LN(2)
x= 5LN(2)/3LN(2)
Hower this answer does not match up any of the possible answers i have to choose from:
a) 2log(x+2)+log(x-1)
b)log 3
c)log(x^2+2)-log(x-1)
d)log(x+1)
Someone help. Thanks. Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Solve: 2^(x+3)=2^5
I've worked it to
LN(2^(x+3)) = LN(2^5)
x+3*LN(2)=5*LN(2)
x= 5LN(2)/3LN(2) ************* NG
------------------------
x+3*LN(2)=5*LN(2)
Divide by ln(2)
x+3 = 5
x = 2
------------------
Even better:
2^(x+3)=2^5
Since it's the same base,
x+3 = 5
x = 2
