You can put this solution on YOUR website!
How would I factor this to leave a all by itself?
m2g -m2a = m1a + m1g
--------
If you mean solve for a:
m2g -m2a = m1a + m1g
Get all terms with a on one side
m2g -m1g = m1a - m2a
m2g -m1g = a*(m1 - m2)
(m2g -m1g)/(m1 - m2) = a
a = (m2g -m1g)/(m1 - m2) = g(m2 - m1)/(m1 - m2)
a = -g
