You can put this solution on YOUR website!
f(x)=%28x%5E2-2x%2B1%29
a) Let x=0 and solve for the y-term
f(0)=%28%280%29%5E2-2%280%29%2B1%29
f(0)=1
.
b) let y=0 and solve for the x-term
0=%28x%5E2-2x%2B1%29
0=%28x%5E2-2x%2B1%29 [factor]
0=(x-1)(x-1)
.
x-1=0 [set each factor equal to zero and solve for the x=term]
x=1 [same for the other factor]
So, x = 1 and x = 1
