Joan's age now = x + 5
Rob's age now = x

(x + 5) - 10 + x - 10 = 25

x + 5 - 10 + x - 10 = 25

2x + 5 - 20 = 25

2x - 15 = 25

2x = 15 + 25

2x = 40

x = 40/2

x = 20

Rob is 20 years old.

Joan is 25 years old.
