Question 899110: Hi, I have a homework problem that states, " The cosine of some angle (theta), which is in the first quadrant, has the following value: cos(theta)=.0545"
And it wants me to solve for the sin and tan. I am very lost on what to do, thank you in advance for your help.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! The cosine of some angle (theta), which is in the first quadrant, has the following value: cos(theta)=.0545 = 545/10000"
-----
Note cos = x/r
So, x = 545 and r = 10000
Then y = sqrt(10000^2-545^2) = 9985
------
And it wants me to solve for the sin and tan.
sin = y/r = 9985/10000 = 0.9985
tan = y/x = 9985/545 = 18.32

Cheers,
