Question 898226: I am working on distributive property. This is the only question I can not figure out on My Math Lab.

7(z+1)-2(z-2)=2(z-2)+2(z-3)
I have tried doing it like this.
7(z+1)-2(z-2)=2(z-2)+2(z-3)
7z+7-2z+4=2z-4+2z-6
5z+11=4z-10
5z=4z-(10-11)
5z=4z-1
z=7

but I don't know if I am setting it up right because I can't find the correct answer.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
7(z+1)-2(z-2)=2(z-2)+2(z-3)
I have tried doing it like this.
7(z+1)-2(z-2)=2(z-2)+2(z-3)
7z+7-2z+4=2z-4+2z-6
5z+11=4z-10 Good Work...Careful on the Finish Line :)
z = -21

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

YOUR STEPS:
7%28z%2B1%29-2%28z-2%29=2%28z-2%29%2B2%28z-3%29
7z%2B7-2z%2B4=2z-4%2B2z-6
5z%2B11=4z-10
5z=4z-%2810-11%29-----MISTAKE
5z=4z-1
z=7

The steps should be:
5z=4z-10-11
5z=4z-21
5z-4z=4z-21-4z
z=-21

You're good up to here.
5z%2B11=4z-10
Subtract 11 from both sides.
5z%2B11-11=4z-10-11
5z=4z-21
Now take it from there.
