Question 898201: Hi, I'm having trouble thinking of the formula to use.
You an your family are flying to Orlando for a five day vacation. You need to rent a car, and have two rental plans to consider.
Plan A: $189.00 a week, plus 8% tax for unlimited miles
PlanB: $59.99 a week, $.45 per mile
You estimate that your vacation plans will require 300 miles. Which plan will cost less? How much less?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Plan A: Constant cost C%5BA%5D=189.00%281%2B8%2F100%29=204.12
Plan B: Variable cost per mile C%5BB%5D=59.99%2B0.45%2AM
.
.
.
Find the mileage for each plan at 300 miles.
Plan A : C%5BA%5D=204.12
Plan B : C%5BB%5D=59.99%2B0.45%2A300=194.99
.
.
.
The difference in the plan is,
204.12-194.99=9.13
For this small difference, it's probably a better bet to go with Plan A to allow you some flexibility.
