Question 898011: Please help me solve this problem: Two angles are supplementary. One angle is 30 degrees less than the other. Find the larger angle
Let x = the larger angle
Let x-30 = the smaller angle
(x)(x-30) = 180
x^2-30x = 180
-180 = -180
x^2 -30x -180 = 0

Please help me solve this problem: Two angles are supplementary. One angle is 30 degrees less than the other. Find the larger angle
.
Note: if two angles are supplementary, the SUM will be 180.
.
Let x = the larger angle
Let x-30 = the smaller angle
(x) + (x-30) = 180
2x-30 = 180
2x = 210
x = 105 degrees (larger angle)
.
smaller angle:
x-30 = 105-30 = 75 degrees
