Question 897854: Using eight coins, how can you make 65 cents that will not make change for a quarter
Answer by KMST(5328) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Using 2 quarters or a half dollar coin, you would use smaller coins only for the remaining 15 cents, and would have no change for a quarter.
With 2 quarters, you would need to make the 15 cents out of 8-2=6 more coins.
For that, a dime and 5 pennies would be fine.
If you use a half dollar coin, you would need to make the 15 cents out of 8-1=7 coins, and using 2 nickels and 5 pennies would work.
