Hi
Set UP
.40x + .29(110-x) = .32(110)
x = .03(110)/.11

A chemist needs 110 milliliters of a 32% solution but has only
29% and 40% solution available. Find how many milliliters of each
That should be mixed to get the desired solution.
--------
Equation:
active + active = active
0.29x + 0.40(110-x) = 0.32*110
------
29x + 40*110 - 40x = 32*110
-11x = -3*110
x = 10*3 = 30 ml (amt. of 29% solution needed)
110-x = 80 ml (amt. of 40% solution needed)
------------
Cheers,
Stan H.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a+b=110
0.29*a+0.4*b=0.32*110
a=80, b=30
