Question 897669: i have no idea how to solve this problem. please help.
the question is,
Emma writes 10 papers and an additional 5 papers if she writes 2 hours more. What is the number of papers she writes in 3 hours? Answer by josgarithmetic(39616) (Show Source):
IF IF IF we can assume Emma writes to produce papers at a uniform rate, the the rate for the 10 papers is the same as the rate for the 10+5 papers.
, set as a simple uniform rates problem, equation. You might be more interested in a linear equation situation, but I see this more easily (just me, right now) as a uniform rates situation.
Solve for t. You can then use it to find the paper-writing rate at which Emma works. Use the found rate to find how many papers she writes in 3 hours.
--
hours, papers per hour is her rate.
If time were 3 hours, then papers.
