-12 is an integer since it is a number without any fractional/decimal parts to it.

It is also a rational number since -12 = -12/1. We can express -12 as a fraction of integers.

-12 is also a real number

So far in your math course and previous courses, everything you've encountered is a real number. Any decimal number or fraction or square root of a positive number (etc etc) is a real number.

You'll learn later on there are things called imaginary numbers or complex numbers which aren't real numbers

There are other types of numbers that go beyond the scope of your course, but you may learn about them later on in future math classes.

Best way here is, tell what classification you gave for -12, and what was your reasoning?

Are you studying sets and subsets of numbers?
