Question 897214: Omar's scout troop went boating. Some of the boats can carry 3 people each and some can carry 4 people each. The troop filled 14 boats to capacity. If 50 people went boating, how many boats carrying 4 boats did they use?
I was able to figure the problem that there were 8 boats with 4 people and 6 with 3 people. But I had to do this through a series of subtraction and addition until the numbers were each divsible by 4 and 3. What is the easiest way to solve?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
f+t=14
4*f+3*t=50
