between +-1+ and +%2B1+

+3+ times a sin function varies from
+-3+ to +%2B3+

+3%2Asin%282x-1%29%2Bpi+ varies between
+pi+%2B+3+ and +p+-+3+, so the amplitude is
+pi+%2B+3+-+pi+%2B+3+=+6+

the amplitude of the function is 3.

here's a graph of the function without adding the pi at the end so you can see the amplitude better.

here's the same graph after putting the pi back in.
you can see that the graph has shifted up pi units.
the amplitude is still 3 however.
